I gave it extra deep sides for more interior volume. Without an otherwise identical, "normal" depth instrument to compare it to, it's hard to say what effect this had. The tone is however, even, present and louder than you might expect. The bass isn't overpowering or muddy like some dreadnaughts but has a rich satisfying quality.
